Shopping Diary - April Edition
April was a pretty epic shopping month! With the launch of a few collections, the shopping gods have kept me busy. Gods be good!
I stumbled upon the Jasmine Collection by Sephora while I was in Downtown Disney in Anaheim. I immediately fell in love with the compact and shimmery perfume powder.

Remember when I went to IFBcon in February? Fibi & Clo gave each attendee free sandals! Unfortunately for me, they were out of my size, but were so generous to send two pairs to me directly, and I couldn’t be more pleased. They are even more gorgeous in person and I can’t wait to wear them out this summer. Note: Follow the size recommendations on the site; the Black Cascade (left) fits small, so I sized up to a 7 and they fit great. For the Positano (right), if you’re a half size, go down.

Since I’m too frugal to ever pay retail at Anthropologie, I always make a beeline to the sale rack. As soon as I saw this skirt and blouse, I fell in love! I headed to H&M’s sale section afterwards and picked up some seriously cute hair clips for $1 a piece!

As soon as Micheline announced the filming of her makeup & hair tutorial DVD, I’ve been waiting with bated breath for it to come out. When she announced it was available online for pre-order, I got on it like white on rice. I can’t wait to watch it!

When Kate Young for Target hit stores, I made the early morning trek to Target like I normally do to check out the collection. Overall I’m underwhelmed and the price points seemed too high for the quality. However, the red pumps, and red cocktail dress are amazing and worth every penny!

Every year H&M outdoes themselves with their exclusive Conscious Collection. When I saw this number in their lookbook, I knew I had to have it. Unfortutnately I wasn’t able to make it to LA where the collection was for sale in Southern California, so an amazing friend picked it up for me. Pro-tip: I’m 5’2” and the dress is clearly way too long in the back; since hemming it up will ruin the embroidery at the bottom, I will bustle the back in true Victorian fashion. +1 to fashion ingenuity!

I foolishly missed out on the collection from last year, so I knew I had to jump on it this time before it sold out. The compact is fun and the lip color, rouge, and nail polish are the perfect retro pink to channel your inner Betty.

My friend and partner in crime, Erin, introduced me to Shoes of Prey, and that’s all it took for me to fall into the rabbit hole of custom shoe designing. After spending 3 hours straight designing shoes, I made these, which are inspired by vintage Joseph LaRose oxford pumps. The shoes fit perfectly! The fit, the color, the materials are all amazing. The listed turnaround time is 3 - 4 weeks, but I received them in 2 weeks in the beautiful packaging you see above. It is a pretty penny, but worth every single one!

Found this lipstick at my Sephora in JCP on sale for only $8! It’s a shimmery orange/coral (despite how pink it looks in the photo). The pigmentation is great and moisturizes as well.

Who knew that I would be obsessed with rubber shoes? I headed straight to Forever 21 as soon as the Melissa x Forever 21 collection hit stores and picked up these totes adorbs black flat sandals. Faux rubber pyramid studs ftw!

The Urban Outfitters sale rack never disappoints, so I did some pillaging and came out with a couple of cardigans and an earring set. My poor black cardigan I’ve had for years has finally went to wardrobe heaven, so I had to find its replacement. The floral cardigan is less of a necessity, but it’s perfect for Spring, so I couldn’t say no!

Target’s newest collaboration was under the radar, but don’t let the quiet launch fool you. These scarves, designed by artist Vera Neumann are perfect for Spring and Summer. Don’t they remind you of vintage scarves?

This gorgeous dress comes in 4 different colors and I was so surprised to see it on clearance. It looks and feels expensive, and it’s perfect for an upcoming evening wedding or party. I love the lace detail, and naturally, they go perfectly with my Louboutins!

Shopping Diary - March Edition

JCPenney has been knocking it out of the park with their amazing collaborations, and Duro Olowu for JCP doesn’t disappoint. The patterns are fun and perfect for Spring, and I fell in love with this skirt. It’s cotton a-line skirt with side pockets and an elastic waistband, so it’s super comfy too! Note: The sizing is a bit wonky on this one, I’m normally a medium, but bought the skirt in an extra small and it fit perfectly.
