My Favorite Things: Big Hair, Don’t Care

Big hair. I love it. You may say I want to marry it. And when IFB challenged us to post about our hair inspiration (also brought to you by Frederic Fekkai), I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

Big hair isn’t effortless. You have to tease your hair to high heaven, use copious amounts of hairspray, and be prepared to hit the ceiling of your car when you get in. But all of that doesn’t matter, because it’s a classic style that will never go out of style (at least to me).

Remember, Remember, This Day in…

Four years ago today, I married my best friend. We had an amazing Spring wedding, surrounded by our closest friends and family.

I couldn’t imagine a better partner in crime, someone to carouse the world with. He is my muse, my comfort. Happy anniversary, my love.

What’s 4 years when we still have a lifetime?

My Favorite Things: Barbee Vintage

For 2013 I’ve made it a mission to spread the word about my favorite purveyors of vintage. And if you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I’m an acclaimed master shopper. I spend too much of my time on Etsy perusing page after page of vintage that I can only pine after…and then I came across Barbee Vintage: fabulous vintage AND it’s affordable? It’s too good to be true!

I love her wares so much that I couldn’t resist creating a styleboard featuring this amazing 1960s lime plaid house coat. I know they’re supposed to be worn inside, but worn with a white crinoline and white camisole underneath, it’s perfect for a day out in the sun!

& Other Stories - Pre-Opening Sneak Peek

When H&M announced their new store & Other Stories, I was curious and excited to see what they were bringing to the table.

Then I found out it’ll only be available in Europe, and so I ask, “H&M, Y U NO LIKE US?”.

This morning I received an email announcing their online store pre-opening; so after getting over my sorrow of what could have been, I humbly present to you my favorite pieces. The lucky ones that are in Europe, you can make your way and purchase them today. Don’t mind me as I pine for those ballerina flats…no really, I don’t need them!

I am swooning over the ballerina flats and the black and pink leather bag…they are so perfectly vintage inspired (and they’re REAL leather!).

*Sigh* I’m envious of all you folks across the pond that get a chance at these…just promise me one thing, take photos and send them to me once in awhile? K, thx.

Pump It Up: Pumps for under $30

Something that I really love about fast fashion stores is that they carry the same styles in multiple colors. Sometimes you want that classic t-shirt in 3 different colors…and in this case, Forever 21 carries super cute pumps that come in multiple colors for under $30.

I really love the suede pumps in Mint and Coral…they are so perfect for Spring and easy to coordinate outfits with.

Collaboration Alert: Duro Olowu for JCPenney

JCPenney is on a roll! In addition to Georgina Chapman’s collection and Joe Fresh releasing this week, Duro Olowu’s will also debut on March 1.

They have a stacked schedule for collaborations, and they don’t disappoint. The silhouettes are gorgeous and classic, the prints are fresh, and they look expensive.

Collaboration Alert: Georgina Chapman of Marchesa for JCPenney

I couldn’t believe that I didn’t hear of Pearl for JCPenney until a couple weeks ago!

The collection debuted online two days ago and will be available in stores on March 1st. With prices ranging from $50 - $250, I’m impressed with what JCPenney has been able to offer at such a reasonable price point.

The store at Laguna Hills Mall will be hosting a special launch event on March 8th to celebrate the collection as well as an exclusive Marchesa fragrance (and of course I’ll be there!).
